The end of the beginning

Today was a big day. Got the results of the CT scan which show a good response to the chemotherapy. The primary tumor and also coeliac nodes were 'substantially' reduced in size. By good fortune I saw Dr Mosse [surgeon] in his rooms and we have pencilled in surgery for the 5th of February. This will clash totally with Jeremy's wedding in Melbourne on the 15th, though as Lynne pointed out, it is likely I will be in hospital still at that date. I am booked to see Dr Yip [medical oncologist] next Wednesday.
I also got to the Customs Joggers lunchtime group; I rolled out a 30 minute slow jog, the first in about two months. Other members were pleased to see me back, and as usual I enjoyed the company. My feet have radically improved now that chemo has stopped; I felt rather tired, and my stomach was upset, so it will be early to bed tonight!!!
