Thanks to all commentators on my last blog entry...nice to hear from you MM. Wishing you and the family all the best for the Olympic year 2008. Thanks for that wonderful lunch!!
Consultation with Dr Yip was rather matter of fact. Not much for him to say or do except to sign off on surgery. Cruising through these last few weeks. Lyndall and I plan a week down at Batemans Bay over the January long weekend..just before surgery!! Lyndall has been authorized as a contributor to the blog for when I am out of action.
Next appointment is with surgeon Dr Mosse on 18 January. I did have the thought that although the surgery is big for ME it is JUST as big for the team of surgeons, specialist and nurses who take another persons life in their hands as they go through an 8-hour procedure. Their skill, dedication and humanity brings tears to my eyes.
A big psychological step forward was to start making appointments for dates AFTER the surgery. My Cancer Council support volunteer Marion phoned in to check up on me tonight; she will call again after surgery. I said that when I take that call it will be proof that I am still alive!!!
A blog of my encounter firstly with gastro oesophageal cancer and later with cancer at the pyloric end of the stomach. Blog started 13 October 2007.
