Lynne & I are back from a four day trip [flying Virgin Blue Airlines]to Melbourne, during which we wined & dined extensively with our son [Jeremy], daughter [Juliet] & daughter in law [Claire]. We enjoyed clay-pot cooked seafood in St Kilda, Indian roti restaurant in Middle Park, legendary vanilla slices in Sorrento, Thai banquet in South Yarra, a cooked breakfast on Toorak Road, food hall mega sandwiches in Geelong and Spanish donuts dipped in chocolate. We ALSO visited the Good Food and Wine Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and excelled ourselves with samples there. The net result is that I have put on about 2 kg in weight and am up to 75kg!! Lynne also put on 2kg and is less impressed than I am!!
The other remarkable observation is that all taste, smell and appetite have returned to normal, and my capacity for food and drink seems to be almost unlimited. All the stories of small portion sizes, eating or drinking separately, reflux and dumping just are not applicable to me at this stage.
If all goes well we will be heading off to northern NSW next week.

Wow, how things are looking up! such a positive result! It is especially pleasing that your senses of taste and smell are restored. It would be disappointing to be able to eat large protions but not have the enthusiasm to do so, beacuse the food smells and tastes wrong. Best wishes for a full recovery. Love Rachel + Kevin xxx
