Cruising on auto pilot

Well, it has been just about a month since my last post, and really this one is a good news formality. I am feeling very healthy, eating well, digesting well, walking every day and enjoying the delights of a Canberra winter. My weight is quite steady at 77kg and this seems a very 'natural' weight for me. Last week I saw the surgeon Dr Mosse for a 6 month check up, but it was all rather a pleasant routine; he was happy, I was happy, so he said go and enjoy yourself and come back next year!!
Of course, my crucial medical advisor from now on will be the oncologist, Dr Desmond Yip, and I am booked to see him in November. I will also have an endoscopy in a few weeks time because I have been having some erratic bleeding from the back passage. I think it is due to the stresses and strains of a hyped up digestive system and bowel function; but anyhow, at 62 it will not do any harm to have a scope done. I am on medication of 20mg Pariet daily to control stomach acid; I have absolutely no discomfort or symptoms in this regard.

Last weekend Lynne & I went to Sydney, where we enjoyed our exposure to the 'big smoke' and saw the finish of the City to Surf fun run with 70000 entrants. In three weeks time we will be off to England and perhaps France for a four week holiday.
I had made enquiries about the possibility of becoming a volunteer mentor under the NSW Cancer Council Cancer Connect program, but I think I will now leave that idea until a full year has gone by next February. I continue to read the blog http://garpet1.blogspot.com/of fellow Canberra cancer patient Peter Garas who, with his wonderful carer Leanne, is struggling with a very bad set of complications. I would love to meet [and help] them, but it is for them to take up the option.
So again, thanks to all family, friends & neighbours who have helped and supported me & Lynne this last 10 months.

Peter
