Update on my situation Dec 2009

Greetings to all friends, family & followers. This, you will see, is the first post for nearly two months. There has not been much to report, but very soon now there will be an important update. Today I had another CT scan of the chest & abdomen at the National Capital Diagnostic Imaging, Deakin. Films & report will be available Friday and next week on my 64th birthday I will visit my oncologist specialist Dr Desmond Yip for a discussion.
My mind is completely in neutral. Of course, you cannot escape from the old bromide that you hope for the best and are prepared for the worst. Up until about a week ago I would have said that I was cruising along in comfort mode. Our NZ North Island holiday was a great success http://picasaweb.google.com/snusher/Aeheinomouwe# and Lynne & I have settled quickly back into Canberra routine.
A week ago I went on my usual country walk with Reg Sewrey over near Gundaroo. A hot, dry & dusty walk but not too long. The next day I noticed a dull ache in my left front shoulder area which is still with me today. More alarming is the recurrence of 'reverberations' in my head, which are really quite unsettling. I also wake again with a dull headache, dried out mouth and aches through to the stomach; I have been sleeping very poorly and feeling tired. The Canberra hot weather does not help. So who knows!!?? Is it just an older body showing aches & pains or something more sinister. That is definitely one of the down sides of having cancer. I am not loosing weight, but I feel thinner and more gaunt, no matter how much beer I drink or apple turnovers I consume

Post you later.
