Lynne & I saw Dr Chris Ashton on Monday 12 April. He said my predicament was precarious; if a breakthrough could not be achieved to get food & therefore nutrition into my intestines then I might count on just weeks to live. If a pyloric stent can be inserted (proposed for Tuesday 13 April) and it successfully functions then I might count on months. The cancer is aggressive and growing; there is no going back.
The news was hard to stomach [excuse the pun!!!] but hey, thats the way the cookie crumbles. So there it was, a real smack in the face to blow away any airy fairy ideas of things drifting on idefinitely. Our attention now turns to the pyloric stenting scheduled for tomorrow. I thank Dr Ashton for his sympathetic treatment of my complaint.
