Yesterday I attended the Public Endoscopy Unit in the Marian Building at Calvary Hospital. Admitted as a public patient so as to more quickly get seen by Dr Ashton. At least this time Dr Ashton could see enough to pronounce that the cancer was back. His rough sketch and scribbled notes showed the picture. Despite 16 hours of no food or drink there was still a food residue at the bottom [pyloric] end of the stomach. The cancer seems to be blocking the exit from the stomach, which explains why I am not getting much nutrition. Lost about 4kg over the past two weeks.
Meeting with specialists scheduled for next Monday to discuss options. I am feeling empty and thin. Not particularly hungry, but with a full stomach. Waiting for something to either come up or go through my digestive system. I am under no illusions about the severity of my complaint!!
