Cycle 2, Day 4: Worst day so far

Well, this is starting to feel more like it!!! Had a bad stomach ache all day. Not nausea, but perhaps caused by the antinausea tablets. Managed an easy 1 hour slow walk before breakfast at the nicest time of the day. Constipated; but eating as much fibre as possible, prunes of course, lots of steamed vegetables, including broad beans from my garden. How regular are the residents of the village of Prunevale [near Young, New South Wales, Australia] I wonder!!
My hair will pull out in tufts, so I am expecting the mangy cat look quite soon. Hands and feet continue to suffer, though blisters have all cleaned up. Good show of red and brown blotches on the backs of my hands.
I cooked dinner for the first time using our new kitchen appliances, as we are having a whole new kitchen installed. Lots of love and support from Lynne and all friends, neighbours, church and family....to them all I can say I feel the energy. Special mention is due to Ian & Tracey over the fence, Reg and Linda next door and Graham and Amelia across the road.
Borrowed two books on chemotherapy from our wonderful ACT Public Library:

  1. Coping with chemotherapy and radiation by Daniel Cukier et al. Mcgraw Hill 2005 . ISBN 0071444726 [264 pages]
  2. The chemotherapy and radiation therapy survival guide by Judith McKay and Nancy Hirano. New Harbinger Publications, Inc 1998. ISBN 1572240709 [226 pages]

Both these American books are wonderful reference sources, and give an overview of likely problems, their timing in the chemotherapy cycle and sugested remedies. Discovered today that through the Google Blog search engine you can create alerts that will inform you of any new posting to any blog that you are interested in...lets you know when to go to a blog to look at something new.
