My blood counts were good and I feel just fine, but, after looking at the inflammation on my right foot and left hand, the doctors have decided to cancel the next week of chemotherapy. Directly or indirectly the chemotherapy drugs have triggered this reaction, which must be settled before things can progress. Although I was disappointed, I put things in perspective when I met Brigid downstairs in the Zouki cafe on the hospital grounds. Lynne and I met Brigid and husband at the oncology clinic a few weeks ago; she is receiving chemotherapy as well. Over a coffee and Rocky Road she explained that she had been in hospital for a week after contracting some sort of infection and her chemotherapy was postponed for at least a month!!!
A blog of my encounter firstly with gastro oesophageal cancer and later with cancer at the pyloric end of the stomach. Blog started 13 October 2007.

Peter,
Just found your blog. Your mate Steve alerted me to the fact that you have joined "the club".
I won't say it's a great club or that it's fun to belong, but 'welcome' anyway.
On the off chance that you may wish to have an off line discussion at any time, let me know.
Best wishes
Garpet
Hi Pa,
The blotches did sound nasty so hopefully the break will allow them to settle down a little!
Still enjoying Xmas break. Went to the Dr today and completed a form to have a Gastroscaphy? at the Alfred hopsital as a precautionary measure.
Today has been stinking hot in Melbourne - we are off to an Italiano restauraunt in Melbourne tonight and may be stiking to the (cold) chards etc. rather than the red wines given it's still over 30 degrees.
Love,
JM
hello garpet; great to hear from you. I have been monitoring your own blog for updates, [Google blog alert] but the latest posting is still NOV 13. I sent you a post some weeks ago but it was not put up nor have I heard back from you.
I am so pleased to know that you are still around to pass comment. I have got onto the acor website and subscribed to the EC mailing list, which certainly seems very active. There is of course the marvellous Cathy's EC Cafe website with its many survivor [and victim] stories.
I do believe from your own blog that you are a Canberra man; so yes I am completely comfortable with an offline discussion anytime. email me at snusher@msn.com. Regards PSD
