Friday 15 Feb was a very special day in the life of the family. Peter was discharged and floated into much quieter waters, while I flew to Melbourne for our son's wedding. This was held at Quat Quatta, a magnificent setting in Rippon Lea with beautiful grounds and interior. The wedding was held in the garden with the reception inside for just under 100 guests. 26 degrees and sunshine made it perfect conditions. The wedding went smoothly and it was lovely to catch up with old friends and family and meet new people and friends of both, and relatives on Claire's side of the family.
Wedding snaps showing the happy couple, Jeremy and Claire, with three attendants each who kept them both relaxed and looking forward the the beautiful wedding they had planned. There were long stemmed red roses in abundance, and many small thoughtful touches. Claire is one of four sisters, so I've included a snap of the four of them. Amy, her older sister has a daughter, 22 months, who took the rings to her Dad for the happy couple, and Laura, her younger sister, has a son, Oliver, six months who was on his very best behaviour. Peter had a phone call to the newly weds during the evening and it was a great pleasure to welcome Claire into our family, on behalf of us both. They will honeymoon in Thailand and America and be away a month.
Our daughter, Juliet, returned to Canberra with me, so Peter is getting lots of attention as he recovers from surgery!!
I've enjoyed looking after the blog while Peter was in hospital and many thanks for the emails and phone calls from friends and family. You will have Peter as captain at the helm again, and I will become part of the crew of supporters around him.
