Gastro-oesophageal cancer patient featured on RPA

Over three weekly episodes of the TV medical reality show RPA http://www.nine.com.au/rpa/episodes/ aired on 10, 17 and 24 March 2010, cancer patient John Hogan was followed through consultation, Ivor Lewis surgery, recovery, complications and finally discharge. That amounts to 30 minutes of TV coverage which can be watched as video via the internet.
Each episode airs for 1 hour; there are 20 minutes of adverts; there are four patient medical stories being followed simultaneously in each episode. That makes about 10 minutes of video footage per patient per episode.
It is a medical reality program; the quality of the production is superb. It combines the medical aspects with the human aspects involving patient, family, friends, medical staff. The crises & setbacks are covered as well as the successes. Totally recommended.
