On Sunday 25 April I was discharged from the National Capital Private Hospital after three nights. I was happy to go & Dr Thomson was happy to release me. At that stage I had gone over two days of comfortable eating [soft foods], no nausea or vomiting and able to open my bowels... does not get much better than that! The turnaround from a week before was quite remarkable. The previous three weeks have been a nightmare of eating, vomiting, starving and being empty in the guts.
Since then, back home, something of a shadow has fallen again over my horizon. I have experienced bloating; though so far no nausea or vomiting. It is just remarkable that one turn either way and my mood can swing from optimism to pessimism. Last night the ache in my stomach was really insistent; took two Panadol and got through the night. I am still uncertain if the stent has blocked up or is working again.
Booked to see GP Dr Brown tomorrow and medical oncologist Dr Yip soon. Of course, I do not know how much longer I have got left. What I am finding is that I am enjoying the basic simple activities of life as much as I can. Raking up leaves for example....There is a time for everything under heaven...a time to be born & a time to die...a time to rake leaves and to scatter them.
